Publishing connectors

Where a finished article can go, and the real state of each connector today.

Updated

In short. Two destinations work today: a blog hosted by Peach, and your own self-hosted WordPress site. Six more are listed on the Publishing page and are not available yet.

Connector status

Connector Status What it needs
Peach-hosted blog Available A blog address you choose
WordPress.org (self-hosted) Available Your site address, your WordPress username and an application password
WordPress.com Coming soon
GitHub Coming soon
Ghost Coming soon
Webflow Coming soon
Shopify Coming soon
HubSpot Coming soon

Coming soon. WordPress.com, GitHub, Ghost, Webflow, Shopify and HubSpot. On the Publishing page, WordPress.com and GitHub read "Not available, needs setup" and the other four read "Soon". None of the six can be connected today.

Publishing is in the sidebar, not inside one website's workspace, because a connection belongs to your account. Connect once and it is available for every article.

Peach-hosted blog

The quickest way to get an article onto a public address.

  1. Open Publishing.
  2. On the Peach-hosted card, choose Set up and pick a blog address.
  3. Open an article and use the publish control above the editor.
  4. Choose the Peach-hosted blog and confirm.

The article is published on gotopeach.com under your blog address, and Peach shows a link to the live page.

WordPress.org (self-hosted)

For a WordPress site you host yourself.

You need three things:

  • Your site address.
  • Your WordPress username. The account the application password belongs to.
  • An application password. Create one in WordPress under Users, then Profile, then Application Passwords. It is not your login password.

Peach checks the details when you connect.

This connector was rebuilt recently and has not yet been confirmed against a wide range of WordPress setups. If connecting or publishing fails, the error from WordPress is shown. Email it to hello@gotopeach.com.

Publishing an article

Open the article. The publish control sits above the editor. It lists your connected destinations. Choose one, read the confirmation, and confirm.

When it succeeds, you get a link to the published page and the button changes to Publish again. Read Publish again before using it.

Without a connector

You do not need a connector to use an article. The editor's export menu downloads it as Markdown, HTML, Word or PDF.

Disconnecting

Each connected card has a Disconnect control. It asks you to confirm. Disconnecting does not remove anything already published.
