New article

Start an article from a blank title. Which formats are available, which are coming soon, and what top of funnel and mid funnel change.

Updated

In short. New article is for writing something Peach did not suggest. You pick a format, pick a funnel stage, and give it a title. Three formats work today. Comparison is coming soon.

Formats

Format What it produces Status
Article An in-depth piece that informs and builds authority Available
Listicle A ranked or curated "top N" list with a comparison table Available
How-to A step-by-step guide with a process table Available
Comparison A side-by-side breakdown Coming soon

Coming soon. Comparison. The card is shown and cannot be selected. Peach has no comparison template yet, and it will not quietly write a general article under that label.

The four format cards on the New article tab. Article, Listicle and How-to each have a write button. Comparison is greyed out and labelled Soon.

What each format changes

  • Article has an introduction, body sections that each research their own sources, a conclusion and an FAQ.
  • Listicle is built from one round of research into the entries. The list and its tables are then assembled from those facts directly, without a second writing pass, so nothing is re-narrated or embellished.
  • How-to follows a fixed rhythm for each step: what you are doing, how to do it, common mistakes, and what done looks like. It adds a "what you need" section and a "when it doesn't work" section.

Format changes structure and length. It does not change voice. Voice comes from Brand Hub.

Funnel stage

Every available format asks for a stage.

Stage The reader What the outline does
Top of funnel Is learning about the problem Builds understanding in order. May contain no product comparison at all.
Mid funnel Is comparing ways to solve it Sets out the criteria for deciding, compares named approaches, and says when an approach is the wrong choice.

The stage changes what the outline argues, not only the wording. A mid-funnel outline has to compare. A top-of-funnel outline does not have to.

Top of funnel is the default, because it is the safer wrong answer. It undersells. A mid-funnel article aimed at a reader who has not yet accepted they have the problem pitches too early.

Coming soon. A bottom-of-funnel stage. Only top and mid are offered.

Starting one

  1. Open Content Engine, then New article.
  2. Check the source selector shows the right website.
  3. Choose a format and a stage.
  4. Type a title.
  5. Create it. Peach generates the outline and opens it.

From there it is the same as any other piece. See The outline, the article and quality checks.

If the source has gaps

When the selected source has missed questions, the tab says how many and links to What to write. It does not stop you. Writing from a blank title is what this tab is for.
